THRACIAN FOLKLORE EVENTS - XANTHI CARNIVAL

The Thracian folklore events - Carnival in Xanthi, is the oldest local event that started in 1966. For more than half a century it offers visitors, young and old, unique moments of joy, crazy revelry and optimism.

For about two weeks the city of Xanthi welcomes us with a series of events that culminate with the big carnival parade and the burning of the Tzaros. Music , dancing, fun, film screenings, theatre nights and exhibitions dominate these days.

CELEBRATIONS OF THE OLD TOWN OF XANTHI

Every year in the first week of September the city of Xanthi goes back to the old days. More specifically, the "Old Town", the traditional preserved settlement of Xanthi, is flooded with music, rhythm and dance, reminding us of our cultural identity and heritage

Since 1991, the Old Town festivals have been there to promote the culture, the culture, the customs and traditions of the Thracians. The cobbled alleys bustle with life and offer generous fun and entertainment to every visitor. Wandering around the alleys you will surely visit the haunts of various clubs and taste grilled delicacies as well as local dishes and sweets.

XANTHI - POLIS ONEIRON Music Schools

An event organized by the music school of Xanthi in cooperation with the Cultural Centreof the Municipality of Xanthi and the Regional Unit of Xanthi. This year the events willtake place on 3-7 May with a variety of activities and renowned people of Art. The city isvisited by thousands of music school students from all over Greece and beyond toexperience this unique musical and educational event. For five days Xanthi experiencesa magical atmosphere! Every square, every neighborhood and every corner is floodedwith music , melodies and dance.

YOUTH FESTIVALS

An institution dedicated to our young friends. The events take place in late spring andshowcase the imagination and creativity of our youth. At the Youth Festivals, students can beprotagonists on stage and at the same time the audience below the stage. Young and oldalike participate with enthusiasm and vitality, strengthening this institution and reminding usof the dynamic identity of our culture. Once again the city is flooded with beautiful emotionsand shows us the way through the eyes of children who know how to dream.
