Descents on the river Nestos
Nestos is one of the largest rivers in Greece and flows opposite Thassos, in the Thracian Sea. Its gorge and delta are among the largest protected areas in Greece. Before Nestos reaches its delta, it flows through a fascinating gorge. On one side, rocks up to 1000 m high and on the other side, large sandy beaches and riverside forests with a beautiful flora.
Here there are many rare species of animals and plants. Colourful dragonflies and butterflies thrive on the bank. Even wild horses. On the rocks we find flowers that can only be found in the canyon. On a unique canoe trip, a total distance of 20 km with experienced local guides, you enter the water and paddle along the meanders.
